Osteopathy involves hands-on treatment to guide your body back to optimum health so you can move pain-free. With a holistic approach to health conditions, osteopathy includes all aspects of clinical interaction including case history, examination, treatment, and prevention strategies. This form of assessment is the great strength of the osteopathic profession, as it takes into account all aspects of a patient’s lifestyle to treat the cause of the condition, not just the symptoms of it. Osteopathic treatments are effective because the focus is not just on the painful area. Treatments include a wide range of gentle, non-invasive manual techniques such as joint articulation, soft tissue, manipulation, and cranial osteopathy.
Once a diagnosis has been reached, a treatment plan will be developed with you. We may also suggest exercises and stretches to help prevent further aggravation and maintain the improvements achieved through treatment. Osteopathy is patient-centered, meaning the treatment is geared towards you as an individual.
Osteopaths are registered ACC practitioners and regulated by the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ).
